Q. Does Flexicose® or FlexicosePlus® have any side effects?
Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® are 100% gluten-free and are generally well tolerated as they are nutraceuticals, not pharmaceuticals. You should not take Flexicose® if you are allergic to shellfish.
If you are pregnant or nursing, always consult with your physician before starting any supplement. Always inform your doctor of any drug and/or supplement you are taking to prevent possible interactions.
Q. Do you source your chondroitin from bovine or shark cartilage?
We use chondroitin derived from bovine (cattle) cartilage because sharks are being slaughtered at an alarming rate and are considered close to extinction in many parts of the world.
At DTC Health, we have made a conscious decision not to contribute to this travesty. Instead, we use chondroitin derived from cattle, which is considered a highly renewable resource in our industrialized world. Cattle are already being raised and harvested with almost nothing wasted, providing a wide range of products and by-products for human use.
Q. What time of the day should I take Flexicose®?
Flexicose® can be taken at any time of the day that is convenient for you. It does not matter if you take Flexicose® before, during, or after meals. Many of our customers take Flexicose® in the morning with breakfast.

Q. What are the differences between the human and pet formulas?
Both versions of Flexicose® are identical. Likewise, both versions of FlexicosePlus® are identical. Pet Flexicose® and Pet FlexicosePlus® have different labels because of different dosage requirements based on weight.
Q. What are the differences between Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus®?
Both Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® contain superior quality Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM, as well as other synergistic ingredients.
FlexicosePlus® was formulated for athletes and those interested in a more potent and natural formula. FlexicosePlus® contains all of the benefits of Flexicose® plus Hyaluronic Acid (HA), extra strength Chondroitin and MSM, with all-natural sweetener, flavor and color.
FlexicosePlus® is sweetened with Stevia only, making it safe for diabetics, hypoglycemics and those concerned with weight management.
Q. Why liquid glucosamine over tablets or pills?
Liquid glucosamine formulas, aside from being more readily bioavailable and easier to swallow, have another very important benefit. Unlike pills, liquid is absorbed as soon as it enters the stomach. It is not uncommon to have pills pass right through the body with the engraving marks still visible.
Pills and capsules may cost less, but in reality you get far less absorption for your money. Liquids are also easy to administer to pets because you can simply pour it over their food.

Q. What does Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® taste like? What are the inactive ingredients?
Flexicose® has a mixed berry flavor, and FlexicosePlus® has a new-and-improved vanilla-citrus flavor.
Most customers drink Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® directly from the bottle, while some choose to mix it in with their favorite beverage. The owners of DTC put it directly in their orange juice at breakfast.
Our four-legged friends enjoy their "gravy" when it is poured over their food or administered with a dropper/syringe. Other customers have reported success with putting Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® in orange juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, cranberry juice, Crystal light®, soda, etc. You are free to "doctor it up" anyway you wish.

Q. Is Flexicose® approved by the FDA?

Flexicose® is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Learn more about FDA regulations.
Q. What are your shipping costs? Do you ship Flexicose® internationally?
US Shipping is always free! International shipping rates vary depending on location. You can calculate shipping charges once you add an item to your cart, and then view your cart. Please note that we do not ship to Norway, Austria, North Korea, Sudan, Belgium or Germany because these countries will not accept our products. Health Canada regulations stipulate that Canadian customers can purchase Flexicose for their personal use only, not for resell. They may purchase up to a 90 day supply, per person or animal, at a time. For example, a 90 day supply for one person is three bottles. If you have two people taking Flexicose than you may order a maximum of 6 bottles at a time. For animals, a 90 day supply is based on the weight of the animal and will vary accordingly. To place phone orders from outside of the US, please call 1-919-461-0421 (M-F, 8-4, Central Time).

Q. What type of animals can I give Flexicose® to? Are there any other ailments besides arthritis that Flexicose® can help with?
Our customers have used Flexicose® successfully with common animals, such as dogs, cats and horses. We even have some pigs and other exotic pets as customers.
In addition to promoting arthritis pain relief, Flexicose® promotes improved joint mobility and flexibility. Flexicose® is also effective for knee, elbow and hip dysplasia, equine arthritis and osteochondrosis, to name a few.
* Do not feed to cattle or other ruminants.
**Also, not all ingredients in Flexicose® are recognized as essential nutrients by the AAFCOdog food nutrient profile.
Q. How long do I have to take Flexicose® for? Can I reduce the dosage over time?
Like a cut, your body does not heal itself instantly. Flexicose® should be taken at double the recommended dosage for the first two weeks to "jump start" cartilage repair and pain reduction. It is also safe to take double the dose of Flexicose® indefinitely, if needed.
If you are experiencing relief with your current dose, then there is little reason to cut back because the soothing ingredients in Flexicose® will continually keep your joints bathed in a protective fluid, and it will work to prevent further damage to your joints.
Because of stress and constant wear and tear to your joints, it is recommended that you continue to take Flexicose® to help prevent further deterioration.
Q. Is there a cure for Arthritis?
Arthritis is a painful, incurable condition with no known cure. If you or your pet struggle with joint pain, Flexicose® may still do wonders for you, and it may help ease your pain without the harmful effects of NSAIDs.
A recent landmark study, done by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), showed that the same kind of glucosamine found in Flexicose® was at least as effective as the NSAID, Celebrex, with far fewer side effects.
Q. Does Flexicose need to be refrigerated?
It is suggested that you refrigerate Flexicose® after opening. Prior to opening, Flexicose® can be stored at room temperature. Please be aware that there are preservatives in Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® so you can take it with you on trips or vacations. You don't have to worry about it spoiling, unless the bottle is past its expiration date, which is on the bottom of every bottle. Please be advised that some settling will occur when taking FlexicosePlus®. Please shake well before each use.
